Could $5 a day make you rich?

No, and that’s why I was quite skeptical when I started reading Dennis Becker’s new ebook on making money on the internet - “5 Bucks A Day”.

It reminded me of an ebook I bought a couple of years ago with a title something like “Double Your Way To A Million” - In theory it would work if you could double your profit each day starting at 5 cents, but only in theory.

I recently participated in a couple of internet marketing surveys, and when I saw the results I realized - much to my surprise - that I was in the top 5% - I do earn some money from the internet. Not much, but I learned from these surveys that 95% earn zero or very little money from all their efforts.

You have all this information from various e-books and e-courses but nothing seems to work for 95% of internet entrepreneurs.

What’s missing in the equation for success?

“5 Bucks A Day” is not an e-book that teaches you anything about AdSense, affiliate marketing, listbuilding, blogging or internet marketing. Thats not a bad thing - after a few months newbie internet entrepreneurs probably have their harddisk filled with ebooks teaching these subjects - and they’re still not making any money.

I’ve read Dennis Becker’s ebook - “5 Bucks A Day” a couple of times and I was really surprised. It was like standing in the middle of the internet marketing wilderness and suddenly you could clearly see which way to go. This ebook describes an easy step-by-step guide on how to find your way in the wilderness - it’s all about FOCUS and ACTION - a strategy that anyone can follow no matter what type of internet business you have.

I did some research on what other internet marketers were saying about his ebook and here’s some of the comments I found:

The author of Affiliate Project X and Day Job Killer has just come out with another product, this one written by other people, including Alex Goad, infamous Black Hatter who makes a killing gaming the search engines.

Project Black Mask is not for the fainthearted, as it employs some notorious “black hat” strategies to suck traffic from the search engines. Essentially, PBM teaches exactly how some of the biggest search-engine spammers pull off getting thousands of pages and websites indexed in order to earn money from Google Adsense.

Unfortunately, there are some serious issues with this whole search-engine game - the first of which is that this type of behavior, considered highly unethical in some quarters, has caused Google and other search engines to tighten their algorithms so much that white or gray hat sites are getting penalized as well, e.g., for “duplicate content.”

Furthermore, as I read Project Black Mask, I kept asking, “How do you keep your Adsense account from being canceled?” PBM provides no real answer to this problem - yet, the chances of losing your account appear to be pretty good if you’re uploading thousands and thousands of pages of spammy content that include your Adsense ID in them. In PBM, Goad refers to “Adsense accounts” in the plural, but, unless you are opening up accounts in the name of several shell companies, for example, I don’t see how you could have more than one account.

Most of the techniques are not for me, but there was some really good information regarding building large keyword lists, as well as other very useful information concerning internet marketing strategies in general.

In any event, if you like living on the edge and dangerously, you may like Project Black Mask. Even if you don’t want to implement the black-hat methods, you will likely gain some useful insights into how money is made online.

Akamai provided global Internet caching meaning a client browser requesting a specific file when is then sent to another website which gives you the index page of the source site of the file. From the source code you can parse it into your site as an image, video or audio file. The disadvantage here was the hoops one had to go through in order to get a file, plus the fact that they could only use the servers provided to them. Now take BitTorrent, every client is also a server, hence the more popular a file is the faster it can be downloaded because more clients or servers in this case that host the give file. Again the lesson here is to give the power to the people.

The next comparison is between personal website and blogs.

Now one should know what a personal website and what a blog is, but what classifies a blog as a Web 2.0 technology? One is the use of RSS feeds, what RSS stands for is “Real Simple Syndication” or “Rich Site Summary” depending on whom you ask. Basically you can put a remote blog or syndication on your site using an RSS feed for example the following RSS Feed, which is referencing another website’s syndication. Another factor that separates a blog from a personal website is the use of permalinks. A permalink is the specific URL for a given blog and/or syndication. If you get a host that offers a connection with 100 Mpbs or above then the host should be considered for your business. 100 Mbps should be enough speed for an average media site. With a good connection this leads to the price of the hosting. Some hosts only offer that amount of speed on dedicated servers that are allowed to have videos and music; usually the price to host such media content is $70 or above per month. If you have enough money to invest you should consider dedicated servers.

If you want to host media content you should ask the host before signing up with them. Some hosts have virtual servers (servers that have more than one site) which have excellent speed; however, they will disable, delete, suspend, or even ban your site from their servers if your site takes too much bandwidth or power from them. Making a media site is very demanding and it is very costly.

YouTube requires mpg format and avi format for uploading your videos. And if you do not have director’s account then your videos are limited to be 100 MB or less in size and 10 minutes or less in length in order to be published. YouTube members who are directors have no limitation in videos size or video length so, you should apply to be a director. It’s best to make your site first and apply for a directr’s account since it’s free to sign up and it’s risk free.

It sounds simply enough: Pay for a visitor using a small bid. Lead that visitor to your page composed of AdSense ads that have a higher cost per click. The difference is the profit.

This is definitely against the rules book of AdSense because the pages are composed only of AdSense ads with no substantive content to boast, but it works for some web publishers who have the balls to try it out.

I wouldn’t personally recommend this strategy, but if you decide to give it a shot, do so at your own risk.

The kids are in bed and mom is sitting aimlessly staring into the space, when dad says, “Hi honey, how was your day?”

Mom frustrated and confused snaps, “How was your day.” Dad shoots her a curious look and says, “I am sorry honey, I had to work late again.” Mom shots back with a hint of anger, “Why didn’t you answer the phone when I called.” She walks up to her husband and smells a reek of alcohol on his breath. “You worked late, huh,” she stammers with a hint of “yea right.” Dad stares for a moment and says, “Ok, I did stop off for a few drinks at the local tavern, I was only there for an hour, I swear.” Mom stares haplessly at him for a moment and turns on her heals, storming out of the room.

What do you think will happen next? As we can see we have love and relationship, and a family arrangement, but something is missing to make this relationship stand. We can review the scenario together to see which elements needed to make this relationship solid. In the first scene, family arrangement is in tact since it takes two to work to make ends meet. Thus, the parents are readying for work, while the children are heading off to school. Mom has done her job in preparing breakfast, and kissing dad as he rushes off to work.

Mom has also attended the meeting, and adhered to her motherly and spouse duties, and has worked at her job. Would it help if dad helped her along in the kitchen and around the house, since mom has two jobs? Yes, it would help. Still, this is only one of the elements to make a relationship stand. Sharing is always a good thing in love and relationships. When two people share, it brings them together.

Mom has emotions that are instigating trouble, since she is blaming her self for her children’s failure, and shows those emotions when dad comes home with the reek of alcohol on her breath. Dad doing as he pleases, would not like it if the tables turned.

Obviously, mom is feeling frustrated and appears to take it out on dad, which makes him think or readers believe that mom is emotional. However, mom expressed her feelings with assertiveness and disagreement; still she stormed out of the room, leaving the conversation hanging in the air. We see a lack of communication in this family, since from the beginning of the story to the end; we did not hear communication between the children, mom or dad. We also need respect to make this relationship stand.
