No ones going to hand you a magic potion or software and puff you’re set for life, it not that easy but its easy enough. So easy in fact that all you need is a few hours a day and you will be well on your way. In some cases you don’t even need money or a web site.

When people ask me what I do, it’s not always easy to answer. Do you want the long version or the short version I ask? When I get asked how many hours I work, sometimes I say 2-3 hours a day and sometimes I say 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Both answers are the truth, depending on my mood. There is of course the inevitable question of how much money I make. Here is where I just smile and say, “you mean since I’ve been here talking to you?”

So you want to run your own home business, well as you can imagine being your own boss takes discipline. There is no one looking over your shoulder making sure you get the job done but this is both a blessing and a curse. Without discipline you’re doomed to failure. Its great setting my own schedule, but I’ve got a job to do and there’s no one else who’s going to do it for me. The great thing is when you see the fruits of your labor coming in you will want to work more at it than you think. Money is the great motivator and what’s better; working eight hours for your boss or working ten hours for you.

So what do I do? The really short version; I do Internet Marketing. The search engines are my greatest love, it’s a win-win situation. People come to the Internet and my website with needs, my job is to help them find what they want. I’ve had my share of all-nighters in the beginning and still do, you will also. Not because you have to, but because you’ll want to. Simply because in the not so distant future while you sleep at night or you’re off on that great vacation, your computer will still be at work making you money. Now tell me that isn’t a sweet deal.

Here’s the thing, right now, you don’t need to be worried about all that stuff. You need to be worried about getting one good squeeze page that converts well and adds new members to your list, every day. As you learn about traffic, then drive a hundred different types of traffic to your list-building page in as many ways as you can, so that you can make some money.

You don’t need to be worried about creating 5,000 squeeze pages for different uses. You don’t need to be worried about creating 5,000 different offers for different things. You need one good offer that you can drive lots of traffic to, so that you can build a tremendous list. Plus, you won’t have to do the work over and over again.

The same as someone’s name isn’t their address. A website’s address is called an IP address. The nameserver links the two.

I can see you asking “what the heck is an IP address?”. IP address stands for Internet Protocol address. It is a unique address given to each individual website and computer that is linked to the internet. It is in the form of xx.xx.xxx.xxx or similar, where the x’s are a number. So it is the internet equivalent of a physical address. Nameservers will direct you to the IP address, and, ultimately, the website, just like a phone book.

There are many nameservers on the internet, just as there are many phone books and directories out there. They are held by web hosting companies. Hosting companies are akin to real estate agents who let or sell their properties - in the cyber world. Host companies use their own servers, and in essence, hold the address information for any domain name hosted with them.

When you enter a domain name into your browser, you are asking the ‘phone company’ (web host) to look into their ‘phone book’ (nameservers) and tell you the (IP) address of that site, so you can be redirected there. Upon registration, they usually take a day or two to be set up, and can be changed at anytime.

You may decide to own your own server, in which case you will be given your own nameservers. You will need to add these to any domains you own. By doing this, you effectively are in control - albeit automated - of the redirection of domain name-to-web site queries. With nameservers, a lot is done behind the scenes. There are two types of motivation that exist: extrinsic motivation and intrinsic motivation. All of these actions are done because the person is trying to avoid some type of punishment or disapproval.

An example of a possible problem with extrinsic motivation is that when the rewards stop, the motivation will come to an end. How do you keep, for example, an employee or child motivated? One solution is spacing out rewards so the person does not receive them all at once. This gives the person something to look forward to. Another thing to do is to make sure the reward cannot cause any negative impact after it. Another thing to do is to try to help the person find a reason to be motivated besides receiving a reward.

Intrinsic Motivation:

Intrinsic motivation comes from within a person. While this motivation is often strong, it is hard to maintain at times - especially when something bad is happening in a person’s life. Everyone wants to be happy, to achieve life goals, have high morals and values, have plenty of friends, and simply be able to survive in the world. Intrinsic motivation makes a person strive for these things in daily life. Intrinsic motivation will make a person take a look in the mirror and say, “I can do it.” This type of motivation will also make someone take a few minutes and reflect on what is important in his or her life. It will make them question why they are seeking out their goals and what they are willing to risk in order to attain them.
